Take Me Home, Country Roads Lyrics – Farrah Mackenzie
Soundtrack: Logan Lucky Lyrics
Take Me Home, Country Roads Text
Take me home, country roads
Almost heaven, West Virginia,
Blue ridge mountain, Shenandoah river,
Life is old there, older than the trees,
Younger than the mountains, blowing like a breeze
Country roads, take me home
To the place I belong,
West Virginia,
Mountain mamma,take me home
Country roads
All my memories, gather round her
Modest lady, stranger to blue water
Dark and dusty, painted on the sky
Misty taste of moonshine, teardrop in my eye
Country roads, take me home
To the place I belong,
West Virginia,
Mountain mamma, take me home
To the country roads
I hear her voice in the morning hour she calls me
Radio reminds me of my home far away
Driving down the road I get a feeling
That I should have been home yesterday, yesterday
Country roads, take me home
To the place I belong,
West virginia,
Mountain mamma, take me home
Country roads
Country roads, take me home
To the place I belong,
West Virginia,
Mountain mamma, take me home
To the country roads
Take me home, that country road
Take me home, that country road
Take me home, country roads
Almost heaven, West Virginia,
Blue ridge mountain, Shenandoah river,
Life is old there, older than the trees,
Younger than the mountains, blowing like a breeze
Country roads, take me home
To the place I belong,
West Virginia,
Mountain mamma,take me home
Country roads
All my memories, gather round her
Modest lady, stranger to blue water
Dark and dusty, painted on the sky
Misty taste of moonshine, teardrop in my eye
Country roads, take me home
To the place I belong,
West Virginia,
Mountain mamma, take me home
To the country roads

Driving down the road I get a feeling
That I should have been home yesterday, yesterday
Country roads, take me home
To the place I belong,
West virginia,
Mountain mamma, take me home
Country roads
Country roads, take me home
To the place I belong,
West Virginia,
Mountain mamma, take me home
To the country roads
Take me home, that country road
Take me home, that country road

John Denver’s song, make in country and folk genres. This is so inspiring and thoughtful song that it gets a little sad and sorry that we aren’t in West Virginia yet. It is felt he loves this territory very much and his soul and heart belong to his homeland. He is getting there on his car and during the drive, he regrets that he isn’t home yet and that he had to be there yesterday.
You can listen to this song endlessly if you are a fan of such direction in music and you are particularly a fan of John Denver, one of the greatest singers ever. This song reflects the soul of a young man that was constantly moving in his adolescent years.
