Age Of Steam Lyrics — Saxon

Looking back three hundred years
When horses ruled and turned the gears
No one saw the future yet to come
Life went on much the same
A different pace nothing changed
But now the march of progress has begun

Here comes the revolution
Here comes the age of steam

Stoke the fires to superheat
Work the mine the cold is deep
Feed the beast the slave of industry
People come to join the race
From towns and fields to claim a stake
Of promised riches in cities paved with gold

Here comes the revolution
Here comes the age of steam
Here comes the revolution
Here comes the age of steam

New machines of iron and steel
Pulled the plow and turned the wheel
Every new invention changed the world
The railways came on iron tracks
Crossed the world no turning back
Bringing wealth and power to the few

Here comes the revolution
Here comes the age of steam
Here comes the revolution
Here comes the age of steam
