A Defiant Scandal At The Suffragette Premiere
New film named Suffragette starring such famous actresses as Helena Bohnam Carter, Carey Mulligan etc. had a great opening with a scandal. Women from activists’ division performed an action of protest. Despite no injuries or harm was stated, the action was loud and effective.
What happened and why?
Women, who appeared to be representatives of anti-violence community, decided to “support the movie” and use its premiere for an act of protesting. The main point of their protest was an intention to pay attention of the government to the lack of cuts directed to domestic violence. The action was supported with multicolored sprays women spread around to make them more noticeable. About fifteen women or more just lay down on the red carpet and started… singing! They were singing We Are Suffragettes .
The reaction of the actresses and the crowd
A lot of people were recording this action on their mobile phones or cameras. Some people from the crown tried to join singing and clapped their hands on rhythm. Actresses supported such an extremely passionate performance. One of the main heroines – Carey Mulligan – was very upset she missed all the action. It lasted for an hour or more but Mulligan arrived right after the ending of it. Actresses admitted that women’s behavior reminded them their roles in the film and was very impressive. And we remind you that the movie will be shown at the 23th of October.
