Cate Blanchett and Helena Bonham Carter are bright stars of this a beautiful fairy-tale film from the Disney studio. Who, if not they, to remake a bright, juicy, colorful, magical and enchanting tale of Cinderella, which was started by them almost a hundred years ago in a cartoon? During that time, Disney filmed most part of Cinderellas, and each of them is a charming tale.
The first actress plays the evil stepmother and the second acts a brilliant fairy-aunt. And though they have different screen time, it is difficult to say whose actor's game unfolds better.
Of different duration, from minute to five, melodies of the soundtrack in the vast majority are instrumental, performed by composer Patrick Doyle. And those three songs that were made not by him, are beautiful too: Strong, A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes by Lily James and Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo (this last one often used in cartoons and movies from Disney). Under the latter, in fact, Helena Bonham Carter appears in the film (she is wife of the best friend of Johnny Depp – movie director Tim Burton, fired years ago from Disney studio for gloomy films).
If fully listen to the soundtrack, you can easily forget yourself for a couple of hours. Beautiful and light, these melodies match the film, which we watch, knowing how it will all end, but still closely after what is happening on the screen. But here is some good plot to see, and special effects, and new emotions from new persons in showbiz of acting prince and future princess, the Cinderella. And, of course, the shoe becomes the center of all the events for some time, so it was made not just like a crystal one, but there is a lot of glowing from within, iridescent. None of the gem or a mineral is so shining, so we do not understand, from what it could be done, if not from the radioactive isotopes.
Good selection for ardent fans of instrumental and good arrangements. Must listen.
