A Cinderella Story: If the Shoe Fits treats pop numbers as dialogue and decision points—auditions, rehearsals, and show-night cues double as character confessions. :contentReference[oaicite:6]{index=6}
The album leans upbeat and sparkly: radio-ready originals sung by Sofia Carson and Thomas Law, plus contributor tracks like CJ Ryan’s “Game On.” It released day-and-date with the film in August 2016, via WaterTower Music, and it’s widely available to stream. :contentReference[oaicite:7]{index=7}

Tracks & Scenes
“Full Throttle” — Sofia Carson
Where it plays: Early in the film as a performance-forward clip; the official scene release shows Tessa’s bravado clicking in. Diegetic performance.
Why it matters: A mission-statement cut—speed, confidence, and the hint that Bella/Tessa can own a stage. :contentReference[oaicite:19]{index=19}
“Get Loose” — Thomas Law
Where it plays: Reed sings it during rehearsal; the moment doubles as a near-kiss beat with Tessa. Diegetic on-stage practice.
Why it matters: It’s the charming-prince reveal as working pop star; the lyric eases Tessa out of hiding. :contentReference[oaicite:20]{index=20}
“Stuck on the Outside” — Thomas Law / Sofia Carson
Where it plays: Reed first performs it in rehearsal; later, Tessa’s intimate solo version surfaces. Both are staged in-story.
Why it matters: Two angles on the same feeling—his spotlight swagger vs. her confessional interior. :contentReference[oaicite:21]{index=21}
“Game On” — CJ Ryan
Where it plays: The dance sequence where Bella and Reed lock into flirty, precise choreography on stage. Diegetic.
Why it matters: Choreography-as-flirtation; the number sells their chemistry without dialogue. :contentReference[oaicite:22]{index=22}
“Why Don’t I” — Sofia Carson (Solo → Duet with Thomas Law)
Where it plays: Performed as the climactic on-stage confession, culminating in a duet/kiss in the finale performance. Diegetic.
Why it matters: The film’s emotional payoff. The duet version functions like a modern “tenor-soprano” reconciliation. :contentReference[oaicite:23]{index=23}
“If the Shoe Fits” — Thomas Law
Where it plays: Reed’s in-musical showcase during the production of “Cinderella” the characters are staging. Diegetic performance number.
Why it matters: Title-echo as motif; the song literalizes the fairy-tale test inside a pop theater frame. :contentReference[oaicite:24]{index=24}
Music–Story Links
Because performances happen inside the plot, each cue doubles as a narrative gear shift. “Get Loose” coaxes Tessa toward risk; “Stuck on the Outside” mirrors two perspectives on belonging; “Game On” turns rehearsal into a safe space for chemistry; and “Why Don’t I” seals identity and romance in one breath on opening night. :contentReference[oaicite:25]{index=25}
How It Was Made
Director Michelle Johnston frames the whole movie as a production-in-the-making; that’s why so many songs are diegetic. Composer Jake Monaco is credited for the film, while the album focuses on the performed pop numbers released by WaterTower Music. Official label pages and studio clips document the key tracks and vocalists. :contentReference[oaicite:26]{index=26}

This is another musical movie, retelling the Cinderella story in a format of 2016: a Prince Charming now is an uprising pop star boy of 16 of 18 y.o. Cinderella is a girl of 15 or something like that, who is a stepdaughter, engaged in carrying bags, doing the laundry and having gorgeous but slim as far as possible body. Only the wicked stepmother remained a wicked stepmother. The magical shoe here is a new look with fancy attires and – most of all – a new hair color that should perfectly hide her real appearance from this young pop star. Of course, the guy chooses her for a clip shooting and in parallel he falls in love with a real Cinderella, with dark hair, not even knowing that she is the princess. Along the movie, there’ll be a lot of songs in the pop genre (as it is made for the adolescents’ auditory on YouTube (basically, this film was shot by YouTube, you know)), sung by Sofia Carson and Thomas Law – main two protagonists. What do they sing about? Of course, love. Pure, as young people have. But passionate, as only they can hold. Do You and Full Throttle are two examples how big energy young hearts can generate and the remarkable salt of the movie is Stuck on the Outside, sang and respised by both protagonists in the short time, revealing in lyrics their identical emotions that should bring up on the thought that they think the same and so meant to be together. This motion picture was released at August 2 online and August 16 on DVD. Thus, we will never know what the box office will be. Actually, if they wouldn’t stick to Cinderella in the name, it would be yet another adolescent movie with dancing and first kiss and so on. So it is for you to decide – whether you love such pink snots in every lyric enough to pay for them or will it be reasonable to wait a couple years to see this movie online elsewhere.October, 28th 2025
