Baz Luhrmann’s pretty and gloomy creation starring Leonardo DiCaprio as Gatsby, Tobey Maguire, Carey Mulligan and Jason Clarke. Leo expected to receive Oscar for this work, but it didn’t work out that well and he had to wait for another 3 years. The cast even includes Amitabh Bachchan – the most well-paid and famous actor of India. Whoever not has seen this film is a fool, as this thing is extremely beautiful, full of emotions and fantastic sensations, just like in the end, where a hero of Jason Clarke shoots a hero of Leonardo DiCaprio. This is not the first time we see Leo’s hero dead. Starting from his first wide hit Titanic, continuing with The Quick And The Dead, Romeo + Juliet, Total Eclipse, The Departed and Django Unchained amongst 9 in general films where his hero hasn’t survive, he also dies in Great Gatsby. But the Oscar was brought by the film where he survives, what an irony. This thing is worst seeing even if you doesn’t care of Leo’s character, acting or skills. Many other gifted people star here and their way of depicting their heroes fascinates. But you should admit that without fantastically successful song ‘Young and Beautiful’ by Lana Del Rey with adorable lyrics & without all this screen splendor and over-the-edge chic (especially in the scene of apartment chilling), this story would be just another broken-heart story, where the guy deprived of love, is abandoned by his passionate but required-of-fancy-living-with-other-guy lover and is killed. Sad, but nothing outstanding in 21 century. People of 1929 should definitely been impressed by this story, though. Other stars, decorating the film, are Jay-Z and Gotye. Some things are instrumental (with no lyrics). Others are fascinating like Kill And Run by Sia or Back to Black by Beyonce and Andre 3000.
