Gilbert Loves Anne of Green Gables Text

---

Woman #1:
The grass pops up in the pasture
The snow blows down in the sky
The leaves all leave in September
The bugs all bite in July
Somethings you know for certain
No one even wonders why
Gilbert loves Anne of Green Gables
and though she won't admitt it's true
Anne of Green Gables loves Gilbert too

Woman #2:
The sun gets high in the morning
The well gets low in drought

Man #1:
The young get giddy with the giggles

Woman #3:
The old gimpy with the gout

Women #'s 1,2&3 & man #1:
Somethings you take for granted

Woman #1:
No one here has any doubt

All of Avonlea:
Gilbert loves Anne of Green Gables
and though she makes a big to-do
Anne of Green Gables loves Gilbert too

Woman #1:
He worships the ground she walks on
As anyone can see
She treats him like a dear old dog
She's fooling herself
But she's not fooling me

Woman #2:
A Widow burries a husband
A hound dog burries a bone

the preacher's always long-winded

Woman #3:
A Pye will always cheat a Sloane

All of Avonlea:
Somethings are writ in granite

Woman #1:
Somewhere this is is carved in stone

All adults:
Gilbert loves Anne of Green Gables
And all of us have always known
Anne of Green Gables loves Gilbert so
Gilbert love Anne of Green Gables
And though she'll be the last to know
Anne of Green Gables loves gilbert so

Girls of Avonlea(simultaneously):
Every young girl in Avonlea
is about as close to heaven
as she can be
If you don't know why
Then I guess you didn't hear Mr.Blythe
Who makes the girls of avonlea sigh
Mr.Blyte
Every young girl in Avonlea
Is about as close to heaven
as she can be
If you don't know why
Then I guess you didn't hear Mr.Blythe
Is gonna be my teacher this year Mr.Blyte

All of Avonlea:
Gilbert loves Anne of Green Gables
Gilbert loves Anne of Green Gables
and Anne of Green Gables loves Gilbert so
