Spotlight Lyrics – Max Harwood & Lauren Patel

Spotlight Text

---

'Cause the party's just started
And you don't want to miss it
The party's just started
Almost so close you can kiss it
Don't wait for tomorrow
Be happy today
And all of those stupid people
Who cares what they say
I know it's not easy, but I know your strong
And I know that somewhere they're playing your song
Out of the darkness, into the spotlight
Everyone's waiting, jamming
In a place where you belong
And somewhere's a party, that can't start without you
Somewhere the DJ is playing your song
Hey, can you hear them? That's your audience awaiting
There will be queues 'round the theatre
For all the shows you're creating
And maybe there'll be curtains, all in velvet maroon
And maybe there'll be ice cream, in a tiny tub with a built in spoon
Out of the darkness, into the spotlight
Everyone's waiting, jamming
'Cause that's where you belong
And somewhere's a party, that can't start without you
Somewhere the DJ is playing your song
Is playing your song
(When the crowds are showing up)
('Cause the lights are going down) 'Cause the party's just started
