“Yoga Hosers (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)” – Album Guide to Tracks and Key Scenes
Overview
What if a teen garage band had to battle bratwurst-sized villains between shifts at a convenience store? Yoga Hosers plays it straight-faced silly — and the soundtrack leans into that candy-colored chaos. It blends in-world covers sung by the leads with glam-punk and synth-pop needle drops, so jokes land on the beat and character beats land like hooks.
Composer Christopher Drake supplies the score spine, but the album release centers songs — from Girl-Gang punk swagger to glossy ’80s updates. The two Colleens (Lily-Rose Depp & Harley Quinn Smith) actually sing in the movie, fronting their cover band Glamthrax with a few scene-stealing performances that double as character POV.
Across the film’s arc — arrival → adaptation → rebellion → collapse — bright synths score store-life routines, glam guitars push the girls out of their rut, and an anthem-sized end-credits cover turns catharsis into a winking curtain call. The vibe is scrappy, pop-forward, and proudly Canadian in-jokey.
How It Was Made
Kevin Smith’s teen horror-comedy spin-off was scored by Christopher Drake, a longtime collaborator in the comic/genre world. The on-screen band work isn’t a trick: the leads tracked covers specifically for the film, then those takes were folded into the commercial release. According to Rhino’s release notes, the actresses cut Anthrax’s “I’m the Man #1,” Styx’s “Babe,” and joined glam-rockers the Glam Skanks for a raucous “O’ Canada,” while the rest of the set pulls from artists like Kid Moxie, Cheerleader, and Sananda Maitreya (f.k.a. Terence Trent D’Arby).
The album landed Summer 2016 via Rhino/Warner and also appeared on streaming, with a pink splatter 10" vinyl sampler for collectors. Drake’s score sits in the film; the album functions as a pop companion that mirrors the movie’s in-world sound.
Tracks & Scenes
“I’m the Man #1” — Lily-Rose Depp, Harley Quinn Smith & Christopher Drake
Where it plays: A loud, grinning in-film band moment for the Colleens — rehearsal/party energy, chant-ready, with guitars turned up and jokes landing on snare hits (diegetic performance).
Why it matters: Establishes their voice — bratty, playful, in control of the room.
“Babe” — Lily-Rose Depp, Harley Quinn Smith & Christopher Drake
Where it plays: The duo’s slow-dance cover turns a classic power ballad into a tender, slightly crooked lullaby within the narrative (diegetic performance).
Why it matters: Shows their softer register and the movie’s habit of repurposing familiar radio gold.
“O’ Canada” — The Glam Skanks feat. Lily-Rose Depp & Harley Quinn Smith
Where it plays: End-credits curtain call — the Colleens bop through a glam-rock national anthem while the movie takes a bow (diegetic-adjacent/credits).
Why it matters: A wink and a win: the girls get the last word — and it’s proudly Canadian.
“The Hockey Song” — The Glam Skanks
Where it plays: A cover of Stompin’ Tom’s arena staple drops into the film’s hockey-bro teen world (source cue; party/scene bed vibe).
Why it matters: Local color, loud and literal — it ties the movie’s setting to a national pastime.
“French Disco in Space” — Kid Moxie
Where it plays: Neon-synth pulse under store-life business and cut-to-adventure transitions (non-diegetic needle drop).
Why it matters: Gives the small-town setting a candy sci-fi sheen.
“Future Stars” — Cheerleader
Where it plays: Montage juice for the Colleens’ “we can do this” beats (non-diegetic cue).
Why it matters: Turns a goofball quest into a pop-bright teen movie, on purpose.
“Miss Androgynous” — The Glam Skanks
Where it plays: Sleazy-glitter guitars for locker-talk, party pregame, and eye-roll swagger (non-diegetic/scene bed).
Why it matters: The album’s glam streak — attitude in riff form.
Trailer notes: The first widely-circulated trailer leans on quick sting cuts and band snippets rather than a single “trailer song.”

Music–Story Links
The Colleens’ diegetic covers aren’t garnish — they’re character POV. A snarling “I’m the Man #1” reads as self-protection; a soft-focus “Babe” hints at vulnerability the plot rarely lets them say out loud. When the credits kick into “O’ Canada,” the film reframes victory as a performance — the girls re-own the night with volume and eyeliner. Needle drops (Kid Moxie, Cheerleader, Glam Skanks) stitch scene changes into a single neon-glam mood.
Reception & Quotes

According to Variety’s Sundance review, the pair are “charming bopping through an end-credits cover of ‘O Canada’.” Album-wise, press blurbs framed the set as a cheeky ten-track companion built around the Colleens’ covers and glam-garage cues.

Wurst movie ever made – with such epithet awarded this movie its creators in the trailer. Speaking of the trailer – you'll have to watch it for two or three times to recognize there Johnny Depp – a father of Lily-Rose Depp, who not only plays a main part in this film, but also performs several songs for its soundtrack. By the way, with a pretty good hard rock and lyrics. Wurst – because in this film are mixed a whole bunch of Nazi sausages, which the main heroines should squeeze, who are BFF, by the way. What happens in the story? God only knows, there is a continuous anarchy, confusion and vacillation. Wiener – the same as the sausage, so if you are going to watch this movie, you have to get used to the fact that there will be a lot of synonyms on sausage topic, simply because the film if youthful, explosive and idiotically strange. In addition to the Johnny Depp there present his wife, concurrently a mother of Lily-Rose Depp, which in this soundtrack has pleased us with active such rock songs as O' Canada, Babe and I'm the Man #1. In addition to the voice of this talented new star on the horizon, we hear the quite similar voices of girls from rock bands, which play the same hard rock, which demonstrate this little fiend. At least, according to the plot of this film. The Glam Skanks are other representatives of hard rock society, that with their bright lyrics in this collection demonstrate that they can heat-up the audience hugely. In general, if to characterize this collection, one word is enough – farouche. Wild. Exceptional. Of course, just for the young at heart. And for those who love Johnny Depp. Well, for ones who wants to lick one’s lips looking leering at his daughter, who seems to have reached the age of consent, or soon will pass this tempting milestone…November, 19th 2025
