Run That Race — Dan Auerbach Lyrics
Soundtrack: Cars 3
Run That Race Song Lyrics
Another day another dollar gone
When I get up in the morning I just can't go on
I feel the outstretch turns of time
I ain't lyin'
But somethin's callin' from down deep within
Like I finally started livin' for myself again
I saved the outstretch lands of time
Changed my mind
Cause I wanna run that race
I wanna run that race
How do we earn my pace
As long as I get to run that race
I feel discouraged and I got myself
But you know you can't blame it on nobody else
Only you know where it is
You belong, sing along
We gotta run that race
We gotta run that race
How do we earn my pace
As long as we get to run that race
When I lay my head on my pillow at night
I think about what still going right
Thank the stars up above
There's still things left I know
I wanna run that race
I wanna run that race
I wanna run that race

A rock song with expressed guitar sound. The guy tells in the beginning of a song that he feels discouraged every morning he gets up. But then he comes to mind and gets used to pace of life. He has to run the upcoming race. That is why he takes the wheel and does it. After he races, he feels that the day was lived not in vain and he finally then can embrace a pillow at night to sleep to meet another day when another race is already expecting for him. This way of living is something exhausting but it what makes him feel alive – and we don’t think things gonna change anytime soon for him.
