Leaving The Ground Lyrics – Peter Maclaggan

Leaving The Ground Text

---

And I was feeling just a bit beat down and so I started on the sidewalks of this lonely town
And I wonder if it's just me or if the city's getting colder and the street light's getting bolder and
I'm cuttin corners even (know months straight) and I was so close behind you but I guess you couldn't wait
And I wondered why the hell I didn't see you coming sooner so I could pick it or lose it
hey hey
hey hey
I'm standing on the corner dreaming that I'm leaving the ground.
hey hey
hey hey
I'm leaning on a shoulder even though there's no one around.

And I was feeling like a million bucks and so I started for the pennies just to test my luck and I wonder why I bother these problems when I know I won't solve them and

I was thinkin in case the times get mean that I should keep my bags packed and keep my records clean.
But i wonder how the hell I'm gonna keep on going (anew) when there's (light and it's done)
hey hey
hey hey
I'm standing on the corner dreaming that I'm leaving the ground.
hey hey
hey hey
I'm leaning on a shoulder even though there's no one around.

Ooh baby when I see you when the lights go down.
oh you know I always laugh and I was running but I did not know that you were right here, right now, I see you again, and I go on.

And I was feeling just a bit beat down and so I started on the sidewalks of this lonely town.
And I wonder why I bother with these problems when I know I won't solve them.
hey hey
hey hey
I'm standing on the corner dreaming that I'm leaving the ground.
hey hey
hey hey
I'm leaning on a shoulder even though there's no one around.
