Higher Road Lyrics – John Ralston

Higher Road Text

---

I don't go out searching*
I try to get lost
I am no longer seeking out your cup or your cross
So, if you ever get to wandering 'cause you've been wondering where I am
If I appear more like smoke to you, than like the water in your dam, don't turn away

There is a higher road just up ahead I'm told.
Oh, may we find it together.
May we remain forever one.

Have I been distracted?
Nearer to absence than to man?
Lost in a fog of nothingness?
Adrift without a map or plan?
I can tell your patience is threadbare to the strand.
What was once a mighty ocean here is more like water through your hands.
Don't turn away

There is a higher road just up ahead I'm told.
Oh, may we find it together.
May we remain forever one.
