Devil Down Below Lyrics – The Brass Action

Devil Down Below Text

---

Woke up in the mornin feelin mighty fine
Got two finger whisky and a bottle of rye
Head swimmin silent workin to town
The job that pays is the one i found
Kick the job jump to the bar
Got tabs across town but i'm goin far
Find a place they don't know me yet
Leave no scrub with lost profit

Forget your immortal soul
You gotta drink to the devil down below

Got derringer sitting right by my side
My eyes set straight on my liquid bride
People always come and people always go
The drink never left me out there alone
Bartender says it's time to pay
Derringer speaks and i run away
Scramblin through brambles in deep dark night
Hidden from the haze of their flashlights

Forget your immortal soul
You gotta drink to the devil down below
To live and drink another day
You gotta run run

Laying in cold wet mud n clay
Their torches gone to wait for day
Sip my flask and carry on
f**k the town that i came from!

Forget your immortal soul
You gotta drink to the devil down below
