Comin' Home Lyrics – Aliana Lohan

Featuring in the Netflix film "Irish Wish," "Comin' Home" by Aliana Lohan unleashes one of the most touching explorations of themes associated with homecoming, unity, and power that never gets old in the listener. A song co-written by Lohan and Mark Mangold, "Symptoms of You," apparently reflects her way in the music world, trying to make the identity of a musician independently, apart from her much more famous sister, Lindsay Lohan. This is really a step further in her career, with all the talent and personal growth one can hear. The song itself finishes as the emotional exclamation point to the movie, with the song finishing as the credits roll. It largely encapsulates the feel of the setting in the movie, very acoustic guitar and soft fiddle, capturing the Irish singer/songwriter spirit. And this choice of instrumentation, where the song is placed in the movie, highlights the conclusion of the storyline regarding love, friendship, and realization of true desires. Aliana Lohan's venture into music, as evidence of 'Comin' Home,' shows an artist who takes herself seriously. This was a commitment of hers and at the same time was part of a larger effort by her to be appreciated for her own art and artistic voice, not overshadowed by the fame of her sister. From Irish Wish to "Comin' Home," she was not only involved in acting but also in the development of it—thus, it was a personal statement about both identity and art. Therein lies the lyrics of this song, along with the musical composition, something that just about anyone could relate to in terms of the complicated return to one's center or feeling a part of something. Lyrically and melodically, its very message calls the listener to ponder on what home is—a place not just for living but as an existential condition and state wherein one finds love, acceptance, and freedom from being oneself.
