1976 gave us this funk song by a singer under the pseudonym Brick. It does not sound very tempting, and the melody is the same – not very enticing. Jazz inclusions cut ears (if you define a totally contrast melody to this one, it would be, perhaps, La Boheme by Charles Aznavour). This sound, as here, has a lot of sharp angles that are rather its distinctive feature than a disadvantage. The constant presence of the sound of the musical saw only takes pleasure away.
