Annotations and Meaning:

Illustrative, funny, and true to character, "Everybody Thinks I'm Crazy" is a song that everybody can relate to, bringing the essence of Woody Woodpecker to life through Eric Bauza. The song underscores that it is in his nature and therefore is a critical aspect of his charm and comic essence. The chorus goes, "Everybody thinks I'm crazy / Yes, Suri, that's me, that's me," says how the character turned clever with most of his zaniness and foolishness, such that people always believe him to be a mischievous and wild one. With lyrics like "I chop a hole in every tree, knock on wood," it was obvious that this song played to Woody Woodpecker's famous pecking on wood, both as a physical activity and a metaphor for the character's screwy antics. The repeated sounds of his knocking reinforce the theme of persistence and impact humor into the scene. Further, words like "I'm the best friend that a friend could be / Living life to the fullest, all can see" are illustrative of a spirited way on Woody's part and a bright, perhaps even disorderly, attitude toward life. The song is a reflection of the philosophy of his life, living free and full of joy, no matter what others may take him for - a lunatic.
