Shimmy Like My Sister Kate Lyrics – Issy Van Randwyck

Shimmy Like My Sister Kate Text

---

I wish I could shimmy like my sister Kate
'Cause she can shake like a jelly on a plate
My mama wanted to know last night
Why all the boys think Kate's so nice

All the boys in the neighborhood
They know that she can shimmy good
You may be late but I'll be up to date
When I shimmy like my sister Kate

I went to a dance with my sister Kate
Everybody there thought she was so great
I looked around for somethin' to do
Sweet Lord, they were doin' it too

Sister Kate, she was in a trance
And then I knew it was in her dance
Everyone was going wild
Over Sister Katie's style
Sister Katie's style

(Instrumental break)

I wish I could shimmy like my sister Kate
'Cause she can shake like a jelly on a plate
My mama wanted to know last night
Why all the boys think Kate's so nice

All the boys in the neighborhood
They know that she can shimmy good
You may be late but I'll be up to date
When you shimmy like my sister Kate
When you shimmy like my sister Kate
