Soundtrack Album: KPop Demon Hunters
(sound of water)
[Intro]
Hey, hey
Hey, hey
Hey
[Verse 1: Jinu]
Don't want you, need you
Yeah, I need you to fill me up
마시고 마셔 봐도
성에 차지 않아
Got a feeling that, oh, yeah (Yeah)
You could be everything that
That I need (Need), taste so sweet (Sweet)
Every sip makes me want more, yeah
[Verse 2: Mystery, Romance, Abby]
Lookin' like snacks 'cause you got it like that (Woo)
Take a big bite, want another bite, yeah
너의 모든 걸 난 원해, 원해, 원해
너 말곤 모두 뻔해, 뻔해, 뻔해
When you're in my arms, I hold you so tight (So tight)
Can't let go, no, no, not tonight
[Pre-Chorus: Jinu, Romance, All, Baby]
지금 당장 날 봐 시간 없잖아
넌 내꺼야 이미 알고 있잖아
'Cause I need you to need me
I'm empty, you feed me so refreshing
My little soda pop
[Chorus: All]
You're all I can think of
Every drop I drink up
You're my soda pop
My little soda pop
Cool me down, you're so hot
Pour me up, I won't stop
You're my soda pop
My little soda pop
[Post-Chorus: All]
My little soda pop
[Verse 3: Baby, Abby]
Uh, make me wanna flip the top
한 모금에 you hit the spot
Every little drip and drop, fizz and pop, ah
소름 돋아 it's gettin' hot
Yes, I'm sippin' when it's drippin' now
It's done? I need a second round
And pour a lot and don't you stop
'Til my soda pop fizzles out
[Pre-Chorus: Romance, Mystery, Abby, Romance & Mystery]
꿈 속에 그려왔던 너
난 절대 놓칠 수 없어
널 원해 꼭
I waited so long for a taste of soda
So, the wait is over, baby
Come and fill me up
Just can't get enough
Oh
[Chorus: All]
You're all I can think of
Every drop I drink up
You're my soda pop
My little soda pop (Yeah, yeah)
Cool me down, you're so hot
Pour me up, I won't stop (Oh, oh)
You're my soda pop
My little soda pop
[Outro: Jinu]
Ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh
You're my soda pop
Gotta drink every drop

Song Meaning and Annotations

From its opening “Hey, hey” chant “Soda Pop” swoops in with effervescent synths and a bouncing beat that feels part ’80s arcade, part modern trap—an irresistible sugar rush that conceals a darker intent
Producers 24, Dominsuk and Ian Eisendrath crafted a “super bubblegum-y” sound—an intentional nod to BTS’s “Butter”—layering bright keys over punchy percussion to mirror the film’s theme of demons masquerading as idols
Lyrically, the thirst metaphor—
“Don’t want you, need you… Every sip makes me want more”—recasts desire as dependency, echoing how the Saja Boys feed off fan obsession rather than affection
On a surface level it’s pop perfection; beneath that fizz, though, lies a trap—sweetness as bait, the thirst never quenched, souls traded for another round of applause.
Verse 1
“Don’t want you, need you… You could be everything that I need, taste so sweet”The opening flips infatuation into craving, the binary of “want/need” underscoring a hunger that only idol devotion can supply.
Verse 2
“Lookin’ like snacks ’cause you got it like that… Can’t let go, no, no, not tonight”Celebratory imagery—snacks, bites—becomes a predator’s feast in context, hinting that the sweetest treat can be the deadliest.
Chorus
“You’re my soda pop, my little soda pop… Pour me up, I won’t stop”The repetitive chant acts like a fizzy hook—once it pops, there’s no escape from its addictive cycle.
Bridge
“I waited so long for a taste of soda… Just can’t get enough”Here the tempo dips, voices drop, and the desperation of longing becomes crystal clear: the idol’s power is total consumption. The Saja Boys are introduced with this upbeat track that leaves HUNTR/X — and the audience watching — swooning over their smooth vocals and undeniable swagger. The goal with the song, Eisendrath says, was to “create one of those super bubblegum-y K-pop boy band songs in the style of a song like ‘Butter’ [by BTS].” “It’s the demons who are evil, but they decide to masquerade as a K-pop boy group, and just be the most appealing, innocent, charming people that have ever been seen performing a K-pop song,” Eisendrath explains. They first appear in an outdoor marketplace, already being swarmed by adoring fans. “All of a sudden, everybody is transfixed by them,” Eisendrath says. While the song sets up members Romance, Abs, Baby, Mystery, and lead singer Jinu (Ahn Hyo-seop) as unassuming heartthrobs, the lyrics hint at their sinister intent. “If you really look at them, the underpinning is like, ‘We’re going to devour you. We’re going to eat you up. We are going to drink you up’ because that’s what the demons do,” Eisendrath explains. “They feed on souls. So it was like, ‘How do we say that in a way that appears [like an] innocent, fun, K-pop bop, but actually it’s expressing who these people really are and what they’re really after?’” Danny Chung, who is part of THEBLACKLABEL and serves as a songwriter on the track, voices Baby Saja in the film. “He does the rap in the middle of the song,” Eisendrath shares. “It was really fun to work with him on something he’d written.”
Similar Songs

- BTS – “Butter” (2021)
Both tracks lean into sleek, buttery production—club-ready percussion met with light, staccato keys. Each crafts a sonic glaze: BTS with disco horns and slinky bass, Saja Boys with crisp synths and trap-infused drums. Lyrically “Butter” oozes charm (“Smooth like butter”), while “Soda Pop” flips the sweetness into a weapon of obsession. Choreographically they share tight, repetitive hooks that invite mass participation, whether stadium sing-alongs or TikTok loops. Underneath, both highlight pop’s ability to package vulnerability within an irresistible groove. - BLACKPINK – “As If It’s Your Last” (2017)
Here the unfiltered joy of bubblegum synths and effervescent vocals matches “Soda Pop”’s carnival sheen. While BP frame love as an urgent last-chance plea, Saja Boys present desire as appetite—both heighten beat drops to amplify emotional stakes. The blend of Korean verses and English hooks reflects K-pop’s global code-switching; both songs exploit that duality for maximal catchiness. Production-wise, shimmering pads and thumping kicks unite them in that sweet-but-sharp territory. Yet whereas BP’s message is romantic urgency, “Soda Pop” underwrites a parasitic dependence, flipping innocence into entrapment. - BLACKPINK & Selena Gomez – “Ice Cream” (2020)
A collab that trades on frozen treats as love metaphors—“Ice Cream”’s pastel pop parallels “Soda Pop”’s candy-shop aesthetic. Both deploy bright, playful instrumentation: retro synth stabs, hiccupping percussion, and flirtatious call-and-response vocals. The theme of taste-as-love underscores pop’s favorite analogy: consumption equals affection. Yet “Ice Cream” leans into summertime charm, whereas “Soda Pop” tempers the sweetness with trap undertones, hinting at something more predatory. Fans of sugary K-pop anthems will find comparable rushes, but Saja Boys leave a darker aftertaste.
