Annotations and Meaning:

"Brillante S Sobre El Mic" by Fito Paez is a deep, poetic reflection about memory, love, and the transitory nature of life. The translated song name for "Shining Over the Mic" could be metaphorically pointing to something or someone making a large, shining impact, most likely through artistic expression or personal influence. Even in the lyrics, it apparently speaks of a procession of memory and sensation that the speaker can never want to erase: "Hay / Recuerdos que no voy a borrar / Personas que no voy a olvidar." This line sets a nostalgic, reverent tone over the past, showing the relationships and moments that were lived. The sentence "Las caras de la luna son dos" (The faces of the moon are two) may underline the fact that everything has a double facet in reality or perception, which could be related to complications within relationships or individual identity. The other, "Presos de este sol" (Captives of this sun), literally expands on themes of one's life being held captive or under some definition that relates to an overhanging force or emotion. It gives, indeed, a beautiful image in the verse: "Y yo vi tu corazón / Brillante sobre el mic en una mano." This could translate into English to have seen the passion or soul symbolizing the serious moment of this kind of bright light from performance or speaking. It implies a dramatic event wherein the other had opened either his feelings or the nucleus that really affects the other. It expresses that idea toward time as a force, transient and impalpable, with the line "El tiempo es un efecto fugaz" (The time is a fleeing effect). This point re-emphasizes the impermanent nature of life, signifying how each day must be lived to have value from experience and connections.
