Jeff Taylor generally writes, produces, and composes most of his songs dealing with a wide and deep exploration of the emotional landscapes of relationships. His music is known for having a kind of lyrical depth and attuned sensitivity in the exploration of love, loss, and redemption themes. The musical arrangements by Taylor are such that they give a touch of life to the emotional impact his lyrics carry. His tunes are soulful, and most often carry a rare variety of instruments so as not to compromise the raw feelings expressed within the songs.

Annotations and Meaning:

"I still remember when we used to walk hand in hand." This makes a nostalgic reflection, softening the tone of the other happy moments in the relationship, which determines the painful tone given by the whole text. "But somewhere along the way you stopped loving me" – This is a line representing the normal common topic enclosed in songs on the theme of broken heart - a kind of confusion and sorrow from the blue love, which unexpectedly disappeared. "Like you're leaving me crying, crying": the repetition of the word "crying" shows the emotional trouble the speaker has really deep in his heart, thus intensifying the main emotional thrust contained within the song. "No baby, ain't nothing that I can do / If you weren't happy, I would still fly to sea"—this sounds more desperate, and the person who would be ready to do anything at that particular time to mend their relationship but feels very powerless. "Please forgive me / I try to make you right / Fix this broken roman" – The plea for forgiveness and the metaphor of a "broken roman" (probably a typo for "broken romance") express a wish to have the damaged thing restored. "Don't leave me crying, crying / What am I gonna do?" The chorus remains the same all through, giving it a more hammering effect to directly voice out the fear and uncertainty that constitute life without a partner. "Crying," on the other hand, from Jeff Taylor, is perhaps the greatest description of feeling sad and agitated following a breakup from an intimate partner. The song talks about the feelings of losing someone and desiring the hope for the relation to reconcile. That is why through its repetitive chorus and emotional lyrics, the song perfectly embodies the overwhelming feeling of abandonment and struggling to come to terms with the reality of the situation. Raw emotions through both lyrics and delivery make this song an outlet of powerful expression for private anguish and the human experience in love lost.
