Swing Trot Lyrics

Swing Trot Text

---

Verse:

Take a step in the right direction
And step that step with me;
Never in my recollection
Did I dream such a step could be.
It's the latest,
That makes it the greatest,
Sweeping ev'ry section of my country 'tis of thee;

Chorus 1:

You'll adore the step that ev'ryone's been waiting for,
You'll find a crowd on ev'ry dancing floor,
Because of something called the Swing Trot, remember Swing Trot.
It's a deal that's very simple with terrif' appeal,
You grab a partner when you hear a band,
And you're the greatest dancer in the land.
It's bill and coo-y, tea for two-y,
Just watch your partner's eyes grow dewy;
Entrenous-y, you're slightly screwy,
But irresistible!
On and on, oh, what a natural they've hit upon!
It gets you going till you're really gone,
And you will never rue the day,
The day you realize the Swing Trot is here to stay.

Chorus 2:

You'll adore the step that ev'ryone's been waiting for,
You'll find a crowd on ev'ry dancing floor,
Because of something called the Swing Trot, remember Swing Trot.
It's a deal that's very simple with terrif' appeal,
You grab a partner when you hear a band,
And you're the greatest dancer in the land.
It's bill and coo-y, tea for two-y,
Just watch your partner's eyes grow dewy;
Entrenous-y, you're slightly screwy,
But irresistible!
Near or far, look through the telescope at Palomar,
And all the way from Rome to Zanzibar,
What is the picture that you view?
You find the whole wide world is swinging the Swing Trot, too.
