Sky on Fire Lyrics – Handsome Poets
Soundtrack: The Edge of Seventeen
Full Lyrics
Sky on Fire TextWheels keep rolling
Sirens howling
in the desert
in the desert
You're on the backseat of my car
in a dream we're gonna watch the stars
in a new place
in a new place
We lost track, it doesn't matter
cause we are on this road together
Let's start a fire, a fire
new kids coming into town
lets get together
we take over now
A fire, a fire
new kids coming into town
lets get together
we take over now
Stakes were high, the rise and fall
no more lies, leave it all
in the desert
in the desert
Change the world, paint the place
bring a toast to peace and grace
in a new place
in a new place
We lost track, it doesn't matter
cause we are on this road together
Let's start a fire, a fire
new kids coming into town
lets get together
we take over now
A fire, a fire
new kids coming into town
lets get together
we take over now
We are on this road together
We are on this road together
We are on this road together
We are on this road together
Let's start a fire, a fire
new kids coming into town
lets get together
we take over now
A fire, a fire
new kids coming into town
lets get together
we take over now
A fire, a fire
new kids coming into town
lets get together
we take over now

Handsome Poets are makers of Indie pop, but rather in this song of 3:34, they are makers of extremely joyful, elegant, airy and nice rock. Maybe, though, it has some hints of Indie. What this clip has is many good-looking people and we are totally immersed in the understanding of the fact why they have called themselves Handsome Poets – there are no ugly people from the entire band and the rocking people around. Their English is gorgeous, despite the fact that they are of Dutch origin, all four (according to Wiki) or five (according to their official site) members. For the cheese-lovers, there is one interesting fact: they founded their band in Gouda, the region in Netherlands, where the Gouda cheese is produced and the land has given the name to its sort.
These singers aren’t too productive in the terms of songs they have done by now: only 6 separate singles and two albums in 2011-2012. Since then, the fifth year is soon to be started, but they weren’t too profound to release any other albums and count of the singles stopped in 2013 too, though they are considered active and there was no official information that they are separated.
On their site, you can listen to 17 songs and 5 more videos besides the piece presented here. So, as for this one: it is soft, inspiring, professional, smooth and airy. They overly active and incredibly youthfully sing here about things that are so relevant when you are young: watching the stars together in two and in the company, starting a fire to get warm, being together, even if you have totally lost your current track, not giving too much essence to this little misfortune, only because you are together in whatever this place would be. They also describe the basic things in life – new children in town, making serious changes in life, painting the world around you in other colors, leaving all the existing lies aside and starting a new life with mutual trust, truth, and comprehension. They are starting this new way together and in the clip, completing this song, there are so many hope, expectations, and joy on the faces of young people that you unwillingly starting to believe that you don’t want to see them disappointed ever and just wish them the best you can.
This is one of the most inspiring songs of the last month that have appeared on this site. Seeing something so hopeful like this piece you want to reconsider your adult life, whatever life you had at the moment and go for a ride somewhere, to sing around the campfire in the big company of joyful people, who do not have the essential problems yet like mortgage, issues of education of own kids, and so on. All they show us in the song and clip – how exactly do they soaked with the life around and how tasty kisses of people could be when you are full of expectations of youth. Let’s try to cherish moments like these and make them more in number.
