Annotations and Meaning: " One More Try" by Timmy T is an earnest ballad of regret and the desire for reconciliation in a sour relationship. It is a song wherein he expressed deep regrets over some of his actions, like "I didn't mean to make you cry, I didn't mean to disappoint you, I didn't mean to tell you lie". The admissions above set a tone of vulnerability and confession, emphasizing the singer's desire to amend what has been wrongly done. The refrained lyrics of "One more try I didn't know how much I loved you/One more try let me put my arms around you" are, of course, screaming in the plea for another chance to show his love and atonement. This plea is highlighted by the repetition of a lament, "Living all these lonely nights without you," and focuses on loneliness and remorse occasioned in the absence of a partner. The recurring line "one more try" is like a leitmotif of stubbornness and hope in a relationship afflicted by barriers. What it does is encase what is at the very core of song: the plea for forgiveness and a chance to present changed behavior and rekindled affection. The fact that this was part of a "Snack Shack" soundtrack somehow implies it can best be used in strengthening scenes touching thematic concerns such as forgiveness and reconciliation or an affective profundity of love and regret. Such a song would highlight the reflective or pivotal time between characters, deepening the story's emotional resonance.
