Annotations and Meaning:

"Superstar" is one of Pelico's tracks featured in the album "A Infância de Romeu e Julieta," carrying a person's optimistic, aspiring heart who very well knows that he will be great and change the world. The song is an expression of ambition and the strong belief in one's destiny to become famous and influential. The opening lines, "Tem gente que nasceu pra viver na sombra / Eu nasci pra ser o Sol," open with a declaration and prepare one for the rest of the song, as the character sets himself off by birthright and the view that life should be lived in perpetual light and recognition. The metaphorical dimensions of visibility, warmth, and life-giving energy in this powerful image of the sun would suggest to the speaker to see himself or herself as a central and vital force. The song climbs, and here's the protagonist again, describing how he envisions his fame and all the admiration it will bring: "Eu fecho os meus olhos, vejo o meu nome / Nas fachadas em luzes de LED." This very sequence almost emphasizes the kind of realization these people desire—who would recognize them for love and be so loved that their name is lit up as if success and The recurring chorus, "E é claro que eu sei o meu lugar / Quero o meu espaço / Eu vejo que o mundo precisa / Do meu talento," sums up the self-assurance and felt destiny of the main character to do great things. This tells of the intrinsic belief in the ability of self and the fact that the world in general has to, one day, recognize the talents he has. The interactions, "(Dá um beijinho?) / (Tira uma selfie comigo?) / (Me dá um autógrafo?)," are some of the nice things marking a life of celebrity, fan interactions, and 24/7 attention that the protagonist has always been waiting for and is gladly going through.
